About VDL Bus & Coach
VDL Bus & Coach bv, headquartered in Valkenswaard (Netherlands), develops, manufactures, distributes and services buses and coaches and is one of Europe's major bus and coach producers. Manufacturing takes place in Western Europe: in addition to the Valkenswaard plant, the energy-neutral, CO2-neutral plant in Roeselare, Belgium, was opened in early 2023; with a 20,000 m² production hall it can build up to 800 buses per year and serves as the e-mobility centre for electric buses. The product portfolio comprises the Futura series coaches (including Futura FHD2, Futura 3) as well as the Citea city bus platform as a pure electric platform with batteries in the vehicle floor, wheel hub motors and a self-developed, one-piece composite sidewall that is 15% lighter than conventional sidewalls. Value creation includes vehicle assembly, lightweight construction with a sandwich roof, as well as repair, maintenance and spare parts distribution in original equipment manufacturer quality via VDL Parts bv in Veldhoven. VDL Bus & Coach is part of VDL Groep, an international family-owned company from the Eindhoven region.
