About VDS optilab
VDS optilab Chromatographietechnik GmbH was founded in 1987 and has been producing HPLC columns for liquid chromatography in Berlin ever since. The product range includes analytical columns, UHPLC columns, semipreparative and preparative columns as well as flash chromatography columns in all common and special dimensions, up to 250 × 4.6 mm. The basis is the company's own stationary phases of the VDSpher brand, developed since 2007, based on spherical silica particles with particle sizes from 1.8 µm to 55 µm and pore sizes from 75 Å to 1000 Å; since 2024, the VDSpher II product line has complemented the range. The columns are made of stainless steel (SS316), PEEK or titanium and packed with silica stationary phases. Each column is individually produced, tested and supplied with a test chromatogram. Customers come from universities and research, regulatory authorities, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries as well as biotechnology; the products are used worldwide. In early 2026, the company became part of Römer Industries Holding GmbH, with cooperation in particular with CS Chromatographie Service GmbH.

Stationary Phases and Materials
Spherical silica (VDSpher)
Base silica gels with a silicon concentration of 99.97% (Classic) and 99.995% (PUR) for analytical to preparative separations.
Stainless steel
Column and capillary material with high mechanical strength; avoid acids and halogens in high concentrations.
PEEK
Capillary material suitable for applications with high acid concentrations, chlorinated solvents and 100% THF.
Titanium
Capillary material; pay attention to electrochemical potentials when connected to other metals.
