About VEKA Umwelttechnik GmbH
VEKA Umwelttechnik GmbH, headquartered in Hörselberg-Hainich (district of Behringen, Thuringia), specialises in the recycling of end-of-life windows, doors and roller shutters made of PVC as well as production residues from plastic profile manufacturing. On 19 November 1993, the company, as the waste management subsidiary of VEKA GmbH, commissioned the PVC recycling facility in Behringen. In a mechanical processing operation, virtually pure-grade PVC regranulate (rigid PVC granulates and compounds) is recovered from the old material and fed directly back into the extrusion of new window, door and plastic profiles. Annual capacity exceeds 50,000 tonnes of PVC; more than 2,300 window manufacturers, window installers, waste management and demolition companies supply material. The offering includes free provision of collection containers, a collection service, logistics and transport brokering as well as on-site support for large volumes. The company employs 140 staff and is part of the internationally active VEKA Group.
