About Velodyne Acoustics
Velodyne Acoustics is an audio company founded in 1983 by David Hall that specializes in the development and manufacture of active subwoofers. The product portfolio includes active subwoofers for HiFi and home cinema applications in various size and performance classes, including the SPL-X, MiniVee X, VI-Q, Deep Waves, Impact X, Deep Blue and MicroVee X series, complemented by in-wall subwoofers, amplifiers and accessories. A core technology is the patented, DSP-based Digital Drive Control System (DDCS), which uses active sound equalization to ensure linear diaphragm movement and low-distortion bass reproduction; additionally, there are anti-clipping protection circuits and wireless connectivity via WiConnect as well as app-based calibration (AutoEQ). The enclosures are made among other things from MDF. Following the spin-off of the Lidar division in 2016, Velodyne Acoustics focuses on the audio business. The company also offers warranty and repair service, spare parts supply, documentation and support in English, German, Spanish and Russian.
