About the VDM

The Association of the German Furniture Industry (VDM), as the leading federation, is the interest representation of around 400 German furniture manufacturers at national and international level. It represents the economic, political, legal and technical interests of its members in close dialogue with them and with industry-relevant institutions. As a member of the European umbrella association EFIC, the association supports the jointly developed recommendations for a competitive European furniture industry. The association's work comprises classic and digital press and public relations work, social media activities, standards-related technical support, the implementation of the RAL quality mark 'Möbel – Made in Germany' (Furniture – Made in Germany) as well as export support for member companies through country analyses and market development programmes. Every month, the VDM evaluates the industry's economic data and publishes it in the VHK/VDM Furniture Industry Industry Report. The association is represented with offices in Bad Honnef and Herford as well as a capital office in Berlin.
