About the Association

The Verband der Holzwirtschaft und Kunststoffverarbeitung Bayern/Thüringen e.V. is a registered association with its head office in Munich (VR 4416, Amtsgericht München). It represents the interests of wood processing and woodworking companies as well as plastics processing companies in Bavaria and Thuringia, including sawmills, furniture manufacturers, wood-based material and packaging producers, and plastics processing companies such as door and window manufacturers, automotive suppliers and packaging manufacturers. The member companies employ more than 66,000 people in the region. The association's work encompasses interest representation vis-à-vis policymakers, economic analyses and statistics preparation, public relations, collective bargaining policy with regional collective agreements for the Bavarian sawmill and timber industry as well as the furniture and wood processing industry in Bavaria and Thuringia, labour and social law advice and litigation representation, representation in social security bodies, cooperation with the Deutsches Institut für Möbeltechnik, standardization and technology, industry dialogue, securing skilled workers, seminars and trade fair organization. The associations are members of the KLIMASCHUTZ HOLZINDUSTRIE initiative and operate in a climate-neutral manner using green electricity and CO2 compensation.
