About Treffpunkt Werk
The Treffpunkt Werk association is a regional initiative in the Bernese Oberaargau (Langenthal/Huttwil region) that organizes decentralized “Days of Open Workshops” on a two-year cycle. Over two days, around 30 manufacturing companies from sectors such as metal construction, machinery and plant engineering, wood processing, textiles, food, construction and recycling open their production halls to the public, skilled professionals and young people choosing a career. In parallel, the association operates a digital platform on which the participating companies present their products, production methods and apprenticeship professions year-round. The aim is to make the quality and diversity of regional production visible and to promote the next generation of professionals; thus, in 2024 around 300 and in 2026 316 students were taken on organized bus tours through the companies. The initiative was founded as an association in 2023 and was supported by the New Regional Policy NRP.

Organisation and governance
As an association, Treffpunkt Werk is not a manufacturing company; the participating companies must demonstrate in-house manual and/or machine production of a product at their own facility in the Oberaargau administrative district and present apprenticeship professions.
