About Visio Nerf

Visio Nerf (Visionerf) is a French company in industrial image processing based in Nuaillé (Maine-et-Loire) with around 35 years of experience. The company develops and manufactures the stereoscopic 3D sensor Cirrus3D at its own site in seven model sizes with working ranges from 100 x 120 mm to 3 x 4 m. An integrated FPGA generates the point cloud directly in the sensor; software evaluation is application-specific on external controllers. Two sensor types are offered: a laser scanner for stationary objects and a conveyor belt version with a stationary laser and moving object. The sensors are software-agnostic and can be integrated via an SDK with commercial or proprietary software. Applications include robot guidance, inspection and dimensional control, bin picking (Dévracage), part identification and optical sorting. Customers come from the automotive industry, food processing, defense and aerospace industries, including Renault, Groupe PSA, ERRIC and MAHLE. Further locations are in Mettmann (Germany) and Rochester, Michigan (USA).

Technologies & Processes

Cirrus3D

3D stereoscopy sensor (laser scanner)

For stationary objects, where the laser scans the scene and generates a point cloud.

Cirrus3D

Conveyor belt version

Stationary laser with moving object on conveyor belt for inline control.

FPGA

Integrated FPGA point cloud computation

Generates the point cloud directly in the sensor and sends it to an external controller.

SDK

Software-agnostic sensor architecture

Enables the use of any standard or customer-specific software.
