About Vitrealab

Vitrealab GmbH is a photonics company based in Vienna that develops light module solutions (light engines) for AR glasses. Together with waveguides, the light engines form the heart of AR displays and must therefore be lightweight, extremely compact and ultra-bright. To achieve this, Vitrealab has developed its own technology based on laser-LCoS, aimed at high brightness for use in daylight, high efficiency for battery life of more than a day, clear image quality without coherence artifacts, miniaturization for small glasses form factors, and low cost for the mass market. At the core of the light engine architecture is the in-house Quantum Light Chip (QLC), a proprietary technology for compact, efficient light generation at high brightness, forming the basis of scalable AR display systems. The company is active in the AR/VR/XR, photonics and display technology industries and has been recognized, among other things, as a Born Global Champion by WKO Austria.
