About the brewery
Vogelsberger Landbrauereien GmbH in Lauterbach (Hesse) operates the Lauterbacher Burgbrauerei, whose origins go back to a Riedesel house brewery of 1527, as well as the Auerhahn-Bräu from Schlitz. The company produces beers, beer specialties, organic beers and non-alcoholic beverages including a returnable and deposit bottle system. Since 2008, a vacuum evaporator has been used in the brewhouse for gentler wort boiling with around 70 % energy savings. In 2015, two combined heat and power units were installed and the refrigeration system was energetically modernized. Since the acquisition of Alsfelder Bierspezialitäten in 2015, the brewing traditions of Lauterbacher, Auerhahn and Alsfelder have been united. Customers are restaurants, beverage businesses and retail outlets; delivery is carried out with its own routes Monday to Friday, complemented by the loan of dispensing, cooling and tapping equipment.
