The 'new' Volksbank im Münsterland eG came into existence retroactively as of 1 January 2024 through the merger of Volksbank im Münsterland eG with Volksbank eG (Warendorf); the entry in the cooperative register took place on 3 September 2024. With total assets of over 10 billion euros, it is one of the ten largest regional cooperative banks in Germany. Its business area covers large parts of the Steinfurt district, parts of the Warendorf district and the independent city of Münster. The bank belongs to the cooperative financial network (BVR, Genoverband e. V.) and works with network partners such as DZ Bank, R+V Versicherung, Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall and Union Investment.
