Volkswagen Schweiz is the Swiss brand presence of Volkswagen AG, represented by AMAG Import AG headquartered in Cham. The offering includes the new and pre-owned vehicle range from Volkswagen, including the fully electric ID. models on the MEB platform (Modular Electric Drive Matrix) with a fast-charge-capable high-voltage battery in the vehicle floor. At group level, Volkswagen AG has been operating a battery recycling pilot plant in Salzgitter since 2021, which is designed for up to 3,600 battery systems per year and aims to recover more than 90 percent of valuable raw materials such as lithium, nickel, manganese and cobalt.
