About VS Manufaktur
VS Manufaktur e.K. produces handcrafted designer luminaires in small series at its location in Steinheim an der Murr. The company continues the tradition of the former Florian Schulz manufactory, which was taken over by Florian Schulz in 1973; in 2019, Jens Schump acquired the Florian Schulz GmbH including its workforce and renamed it VS Manufaktur e.K. Under the umbrella of the manufactory, three collections are created: the VS Manufaktur Collection, the Florian Schulz Collection, and, since 2022, the acquired BETEC brand for picture lights. Production follows the coppersmith and metal shaper craft: from the first saw cut on the circular saw to silver brazing and polishing – all under one roof. The base material is brass (CuZn37), processed as sheets, tubes and solid stock; the surfaces are polished, brushed matte or electroplated with nickel, chrome or copper and protected with zapon lacquer or, on request, 2K paint. The luminaires use modern LED technology and can be integrated into KNX and SmartHome systems; a repair service rounds out the offering. Fields of application are sophisticated private living spaces as well as professional contract furnishings.

Brass CuZn37 (formerly Ms63)
Copper wrought alloy with approx. 37% zinc content, processed as sheets, tubes and solid stock in a yellowish-golden color.
Electroplated nickel plating
High-gloss polished surface in a soft silver tone, on request protected against tarnishing with zapon lacquer.
Electroplated chrome plating
Blue-silver, resistant surface that does not tarnish and is easy to clean.
Electroplated copper plating
Copper-plated surface with zapon lacquer as tarnish protection, on request sealed with 2K paint.
Zapon lacquer (cellulose nitrate)
Colorless tarnish protection for brass, copper and chrome that preserves the surface from oxidation for 1–2 years.
2K paint coating
Sealing of the polished or matte-brushed surfaces offered on request.

Every luminaire is created in almost entirely handcrafted individual work from the saw cut to assembly, with polishing and silver brazing performed by experienced coppersmith and metal shaper craftsmen. Defective luminaires are repaired to ensure longevity and lasting value.

Florian Schulz took over his parents' luminaire manufactory in Ludwigsburg and focused on brass luminaires for living spaces.
