About WTR

Wafa Trading & Recycling GmbH (WTR) is a family-run recycling and trading company founded in 2016 in Mannheim and headquartered in Hockenheim. The company serves industrial and commercial customers along the entire recycling chain: it develops customized waste disposal concepts including container placement and logistics planning, handles the collection or delivery of waste, and processes the materials in its own 2,000 m² warehouse on a 10,000 m² site. The processing includes manual sorting services including the separation of composite materials, a cutting service with a modern guillotine, and an industrial baling press service for volume reduction. Materials processed include aluminium (lacquered, bright, laminated, blister) and plastics (PET, PP, PVC, PVDC, HDPE, LDPE, PE/PA, PE/PP) as well as paper and cardboard grades such as kraft paper and greyboard. The processed secondary raw materials in the form of bales, reels, granulate, sheets or loose material are sold to processors in the packaging, automotive and paper industries – with an import/export network spanning eleven countries. Approximately 4,096 tonnes of material are recycled annually; mass balances and emission records document the CO₂ savings. WTR is a certified waste management specialist company (ZUUM) and is notified for transboundary waste shipments.
