About Walter E. C. Pritzkow Spezialkeramik
Walter E. C. Pritzkow Spezialkeramik, based in Filderstadt-Sielmingen, develops, designs and manufactures lightweight structures from the oxide ceramic fibre composite material Keramikblech® (Ox/Ox-CMC). The textile composite material based on continuous fibres from the Al2O3-SiO2 system (including 3M Nextel 610) and matrices made of Al2O3-SiO2-ZrO2 combines damage tolerance and thermal shock resistance with temperature resistance up to 1300 °C and corrosion resistance. The company manufactures production aids for aluminium casting (protection tubes, pouring troughs, riser tubes, feeder boxes, impact baffles), furnace components, burner tubes and flame tubes, components for exhaust gas test systems as well as special components for aerospace and optics. In addition, the company offers surface reinforcement with zirconium oxide, aluminium-repellent boron nitride coating, materials consulting and materials testing. A collaboration with the University of Bremen and the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research (ISC) has existed since 2001. Customers come, among others, from aluminium casting, furnace construction, burner technology, automotive, aerospace and optics.
