About us
The Wein- und Sektkellerei Jakob Gerhardt Nierstein is a traditional company in the wine industry, founded in 1751 as a family winery. The wine-growing estate cultivates 75 hectares of its own vineyards in Nierstein, Oppenheim and Dienheim with 35 grape varieties, including four own breeds with EU variety protection (Cumdeo Blanc, Jakob Gerhardt Blanc, Cumdeo Rouge, Alegrillo Negro). The grapes are processed in the wine cellar in Dexheim, one of the most modern cellar facilities in Europe; only natural substances are used for fermentation, clarification, filtration and maturation. The range includes Rheinhessen wines from top vineyard sites, sparkling wine, spirits, delicacies as well as selected imported wines from Europe and overseas. Sales are conducted via direct sales to end consumers through a nationwide wine ambassador network and the online shop with CO2-neutral shipping. The company also includes the subsidiary Vinotours (wine tours) as well as the in-house wine and park hotel with wine shop in Nierstein.
