About the Winery
Weingut Philipps-Eckstein is a family winery run by Patrick Philipps in the Schäferei district of the municipality of Graach on the Middle Moselle, between Bernkastel-Kues and Traben-Trarbach. On 6.5 hectares of vineyards, white and red wines are grown in the steep slopes of Graach and Bernkastel, including plots in the Graacher Himmelreich, Graacher Domprobst and Bernkasteler Lay vineyard sites. In the wine cellar, the grapes are gently pressed several times and the wines are vinified with cold fermentation; the estate combines traditional experience with modern pressing technology. The wines have repeatedly been awarded Honorary Prizes, State Honorary Prizes, Grand State Honorary Prizes and Federal Honorary Prizes. In addition to direct wine sales from the estate, the winery offers a guesthouse with breakfast as well as a winery tavern from May to October.
