About Schloss Proschwitz Winery
Schloss Proschwitz winery is a VDP.Prädikatsweingut in Meißen-Proschwitz, Saxony, and cultivates 75 hectares of vineyards in organic viticulture. The company produces organically certified wines and sparkling wines (Sekte), including the VDP.GUTSWEINE Goldriesling and Elbling 2025, which were awarded as two of Germany's best organic wines, as well as VDP.Grosses Gewächs such as Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) and Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris). Chemical-synthetic pesticides and mineral fertilizers are avoided; flowering strips, dry stone walls, rainwater use and energy-efficient machinery promote biodiversity and sustainability. In addition to viticulture, the offering includes a vinothek in the castle courtyard, an online shop, a distillery, forest and Friedwald (burial forest) as well as a holiday apartment. More than 300 events take place each year at the baroque castle with its castle park, including wine tastings, weddings and the Proschwitz Christmas market. Locations are the castle in Meißen (Heiliger Grund 2) as well as the wine order logistics in the Niederau OT Ockrilla industrial estate.
