The wine merchant Südhang was founded in Cologne in 1998 and is run by owner Dirk Palicki. The range includes high-quality wines from Argentina, Australia, Chile, Germany, France, Georgia, Italy, Austria, Portugal, Spain and South Africa as well as sparkling wines, spirits, oils and gourmet items. Most wines are sourced directly from the wineries, eliminating the intermediary trade and offering a pronounced price-to-enjoyment ratio; the range comprises around 300 different wines at all times. In addition to sales in the store in Cologne-Ehrenfeld/Bickendorf (Subbelrather Straße 543), the company offers wine tastings, cheese and wine seminars, enjoyment seminars and tasting menus; individual seminars are available from six persons. In addition, wine wholesale, commission deliveries of wine and sparkling wine for celebrations, and events such as tapas evenings, concerts and readings are offered.
