Family company on the Lower Rhine since 1957
Welbers Kieswerke GmbH is a medium-sized family company headquartered in Issum (Twisteden) on the Lower Rhine. Since 1957, the company has extracted and produced natural building materials such as Rhine sand, Rhine gravel, quartz grit, limestone, basalt, mixed gravel and screened soils for the region. Extraction is mainly by wet mining of sand and gravel; at the Geldern and Weeze-Wemb plants the raw materials are classified into defined grain sizes using crushers, screening plants and washing or cleaning systems. The mineral aggregates are used in road and civil engineering, building construction, landscaping and in the concrete and asphalt industries; in addition, Welbers supplies small businesses and private customers from one tonne upwards. Delivery is carried out with the company's own fleet (13 semi-trailer trucks up to 28 t, one 3-axle truck up to 14 t) in the Lower Rhine region. After excavation, the areas are recultivated in close coordination with nature conservation authorities and reused for biotopes, agriculture and recreational purposes.

Certified product quality
The in-house production control is certified by Güteschutz Beton (Notified Body 0793) according to DIN EN 12620, 13043 and 13139; for quartz grit from the Wemb plant there is a KOMO product certificate according to NEN-EN 12620 (Kiwa). Regular third-party inspection reports (DIN EN, Alkali Directive, play sand) and declarations of performance under the EU Construction Products Regulation document the product quality.
