Wellpappenwerk Franz Gierlichs GmbH & Co. KG is an owner-managed family business in its fourth generation, located in Leverkusen-Quettingen. The company produces around 50 million m² of single- and double-wall corrugated board annually (E-, D-, B- and C-flute as well as DE, EE, EB and BC combinations) on a corrugator with a working width of 2.50 m and converts it into folding cartons, die-cut packaging, trays, interlayers, wrap-arounds and moving boxes. Finishing is carried out using flexo direct printing with up to five colors as well as the preprint process with up to eight colors and varnish; an in-house ink mixing system enables over 90,000 color shades with water-based, mineral-oil-free inks. More than 80% of the corrugated board consists of recycled paper; virgin fibers come from FSC-certified, sustainable forestry. Customers include, among others, the food, dairy and beverage industries, retail and mail-order businesses. 100 employees produce and distribute the packaging, which is delivered flat with high delivery readiness.
