About us
For over 70 years and now in its third generation, Wernicke Lack-Chemie GmbH has developed, manufactured, advised on and sold paints, coatings and coating materials. The entire development and manufacturing process takes place at the Rodenberg site in the Schaumburger Land region. The in-house development department creates custom paint systems for customers' specific requirements; laboratory and production work closely together. The products are suitable for coating a wide variety of substrates such as metal, plastic, concrete and wood. Production is flexible and covers batch sizes from 25 kg to 2,500 kg. The portfolio includes corrosion protection, topcoats, plastic coatings, concrete coatings, wood paints and special developments. More than 80 employees supply customers in over 25 countries, with a particular focus on the wood-processing industry.

Quality assurance
The in-house laboratory tests systems using, among other methods, weathering tests according to DIN, condensation water tests according to DIN, pendulum hardness testing, colorimetric measurement, light booth, viscometer, microscopic analyses and adhesion tests. Laboratory and production work together with short communication paths to ensure consistent manufacturing quality.

Founded by Erich Wernicke in a former World War II bunker in Langenhagen
- 1956
Lease of the first building, relocation to Springe
- 1961
Construction of the first factory building in Rodenberg

Jochen Wernicke joins the company
