The Company
WERTHER – Die Möbelmanufaktur Oberwelland GmbH & Co. KG is a family business founded in 1919, now in its fourth generation, headquartered in Werther (Westphalia). The manufactory produces handcrafted custom-made upholstered furniture: sofas, modular sofas, sofa beds, armchairs, chairs, benches, dining tables, side tables and upholstered beds from around 40 product families. Production takes place with a high level of vertical integration in the company's own facility in Werther; every piece of furniture produced is made as a one-off to the customer's specifications. The frames are made of hardwood (including beech, oak and walnut), the interior is made of cold foam or pocket springs, the metal parts are made of steel, stainless steel or aluminium, and the upholstery covers are made of fabrics (flat weaves, bouclé, velours, chenille) and hand-selected leathers of German or European origin. The products are sold through specialist retailers and furniture stores; with its deliberate location in Germany, the company secures its quality objectives and sustainability in the long term.
