About Wester Mineralien
Wester Mineralien GmbH is a family-owned company founded in 1909, headquartered in Alfter-Witterschlick near Bonn, specialising in the processing, refining and recycling of mineral grits. At its own plant, blasting and abrasive media such as coated white fused alumina, regular alumina, platelet alumina, silicon carbide, glass beads and steel shot as well as mineral powders are processed. The service portfolio includes sieving (vibratory and ultrasonic sieving down to below 20 µm), air classification and aerodynamic classification below 50 µm, milling and rounding with jet mills, silanisation and coating, dedusting below 5 µm, drying, reprocessing as well as filling and packaging – also as contract processing with customer material. For quality assurance in the microgrit range, laser measurement of grain sizes is used. The grits are used, among others, in the ceramics, pigment and specialty chemicals industries, in additives, metalworking, the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, and as refractory materials. A second production site is Polmineral Sp. z o.o. in Aleksandrów Łódzki, Poland.
