About Widap AG
Widap AG develops and manufactures power resistors and high-power resistors ranging from a few watts up to the megawatt range, custom resistor assemblies and load banks for AC and DC applications. The portfolio also includes reactive power compensation and harmonic filter systems (active and passive), components for railway technology such as contactors, disconnectors, brake and discharge resistors, as well as power distribution technology and energy management software. Manufacturing features a high level of vertical integration using materials such as aluminium, copper, steel, cast iron and ceramic; the resistors are designed as open-wound, cemented, vitreous-enamelled, or housed in aluminium or ceramic enclosures. Customer groups include industry, railway technology, energy supply, data centres and critical infrastructure. Small series are produced in Switzerland, medium series in the EU and large series with manufacturing partners in Asia. Headquarters are located in Schmitten (CH), with further sites in Diessenhofen, Hirschthal, Dachau (DE) and Castellanza (IT).
