About Windmöller

Windmöller GmbH, based in Detmold, develops and produces flooring and acoustic solutions based on polyurethane technology. The product portfolio includes PU flooring, biobased acoustic systems (underlay and sound-reducing mats) and design flooring from the company's own flooring brand wineo, including the ecuran-based PURLINE bio flooring. The company's history dates back to 1948, when Albert Windmöller founded a timber trading business in Bad Oeynhausen; in 1978 Witex Kunststoffplatten GmbH was established in Augustdorf, and in 1991 the first laminate flooring was introduced. Acoustic underlays have been manufactured at the main Detmold site since 2000; since June 2025 all production lines of the formerly separate Augustdorf and Detmold sites have been consolidated there. The third-generation family-owned mid-sized company employs around 300 staff and sells its products worldwide in over 70 countries to more than 5,000 customers. Buyers include commercial end customers, industrial customers and end consumers; fields of application are residential, contract and commercial sectors as well as rail, hospitals and shipbuilding.
