About Wingit Kite-Boat-Systems

Wingit Sportartikelvertrieb UG (haftungsbeschränkt), under the Wingit Kite-Boat-Systems brand, develops and distributes complete kite propulsion systems for boats and yachts. The centerpiece is the WingCommander, a kite control system with fully electronic steering via joystick or autopilot, which is installed inboard or outboard in various boat types – usually simply bolted onto the deck. The kite flies at altitudes of 25 to 150 meters and pulls the boat with up to ten times the force of a sail of equal size; the propulsion technology is optimized for minimal energy consumption (only approx. 200 W power draw). The scope of delivery includes, in addition to the WingCommander in the configuration levels RC (yachts up to 55 ft), X40 (40–60 ft) and X60 (from 60 ft), the specially developed Voyager towing kite, controllers, autopilot with kite and line sensor, and a rigging mast. Wingit offers installation, test days, support and manuals, and according to its T&C ships worldwide, in particular to shipyards and boat owners in the maritime sector. The company is headquartered in Ottendorf-Okrilla in Saxony; the managing director is Stephan Schröder.
