About Wingit Kite-Boat-Systems
Wingit Kite-Boat-Systems was founded in 2010 by Stephan Schröder in Germany. The company, based in Ottendorf-Okrilla near Dresden, specializes in the development and construction of kite control systems for boats. The core of the systems is the WingCommander: a winch-driven propulsion unit with fully electronic control that steers the kite via joystick or autopilot. The kite flies at altitudes of 25 to 150 meters and pulls the boat with up to 10 times the force of a sail of equal size. The WingCommander RC, X40 and X60 systems are designed for yachts up to 55 or 60 ft and larger and can be installed inboard or outboard, on deck or below deck. The offering is complemented by the company's own Voyager kite, the rigging mast, deck line sensors, remote control as well as consulting, installation and training test days. Reference projects include yachts from Sunreef, Silent Yachts, Lagoon, Steeler, Alva Yachts and Conam.
