About the Alliance

The WIR! alliance “Digitale Reparaturfabrik” (Digital Repair Factory) is an association of stakeholders from science, industry and society with the aim of networking and profiling the innovation field of digitalization of maintenance, servicing and repair (WI+R) across industries in the project region of Lausitz/Brandenburg. The alliance is funded under the BMBF program “WIR! – Wandel durch Innovation in der Region” (Change through Innovation in the Region) and aims to actively shape regional structural transformation on the basis of technological, business and social innovations. In joint R&D projects, digitalized WI+R plants, products, services and training programs are to be developed that lead to the creation of new business areas as well as to spin-offs and the establishment of new companies. The alliance is supported by BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and the Gesellschaft zur Förderung angewandter Informatik e.V.; coordination lies with Prof. Dr. Christiane Hipp (BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg). It has no manufacturing operations of its own; it is a research and innovation alliance.
