About Wirtschaftsregion Mittelbaden
Wirtschaftsregion Mittelbaden e. V. (WRM) is a registered association based at the Rastatt District Office, to which the urban district of Baden-Baden, the district of Rastatt, municipalities, economically strong companies and credit institutions of the region joined in July 2012 as the Interest Group Wirtschaftsregion Mittelbaden (IG WRM). At the time of its tenth anniversary in June 2022, the WRM was converted into a registered association. The association has more than 80 members, including around 60 companies, and represents a region with around 290,000 inhabitants between the Black Forest, the Rhine and the vineyards. The WRM sees itself as a point of contact, multiplier and advocate of interests: it runs regional marketing and location development, networks municipalities, companies and credit institutions, and offers events and seminars on topics such as energy, mobility and digitalisation (e.g. Energietisch, Mobilitätstisch, Kampf um die Köpfe). Further priorities are the recruitment of skilled workers and education, for example with the Ausbildungsatlas Mittelbaden (apprenticeship atlas), scholarships, STEM clusters and the EUREGIO certificate project for internships abroad by apprentices. The WRM is a partner of TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe (TRK) and cooperates, among others, with the Karlsruhe Chamber of Crafts. Industries represented in the region include automotive, chemicals, logistics, crafts and credit institutions.
