About us
Woegerbauer-R&D-Prüflabor GmbH, based in Bad Zwischenahn, is the manufacturer of the maicat brand and develops and produces salt-free, maintenance-free limescale protection devices for single- and multi-family homes as well as commercial applications. The systems work on the principle of seed crystallization (Template Assisted Crystallization, TAC): a special granulate generates crystallization nuclei to which dissolved lime attaches as microcrystals and is carried away with the water. The devices operate without salt, without electricity and without wastewater, and retain the minerals calcium and magnesium in drinking water. Production and quality inspection are carried out under the company's own responsibility on an in-house test rig; drinking-water-approved materials are used, such as brass fittings, stainless steel connection components and limescale protection granulate. According to the company, more than 500,000 households worldwide have been equipped with the technology over more than 20 years.
