About Woertz

Woertz AG is a Swiss family-owned company (AG) headquartered in Muttenz in the canton of Basellandschaft and develops, produces and sells complete installation systems and components for electrical installation technology. The product range includes the flat cable system patented since 1972, fire-safety cables and fire-safety systems, building automation (KNX), cable routing and floor duct systems, DALI wiring, e-mobility installations, installation and terminal blocks as well as certified medical supply units (hospital pendants). All manufacturing is 100 % "Made in Switzerland" at two sites in the canton of Basellandschaft: In Muttenz, flat cables are produced by extrusion (8 autonomous payoff units, heated extruder), stamped parts (10 presses with 160–1000 kN), injection-moulded parts made of PA66, glass-fibre-reinforced PA66, polycarbonate and polystyrene (8 injection moulding machines with 500–2200 kN clamping force), and terminal blocks are manufactured fully automatically on five assembly robots. Sheet metal working runs on laser punch presses with CNC bending, welding systems and in-house powder coating in 200 colours; 11 turret punch press and rotary transfer machines process profile coil and profile bars at 5–110 parts per minute. Customers include CERN, UNO (ILO) Geneva, Migros, the Luzzone hydropower plant, the Cantonal Hospital Bellinzona and ELVA AG; sales are made via electrical wholesalers and distribution partners in, among others, Austria, the Netherlands,

Quality and Certifications

Every cable drum undergoes resistance and high-voltage testing; the entire cable production is optically measured and the data is stored. During terminal block assembly, finished parts are inspected during assembly and packaged fully automatically.
