About Wolman Wood and Fire Protection
Wolman Wood and Fire Protection GmbH, headquartered in Sinzheim near Baden-Baden, develops, produces and distributes fire protection chemicals and wood preservatives for industrial applications and professional users. In passive fire protection, the company is one of only a few providers worldwide that manufactures all established formulation technologies for fire protection systems: ablative and intumescent products based on organic and inorganic materials, including the intumescent silicate panels Palusol®, the phosphate- and graphite-based intumescent materials Interdens® and Exterdens®, the KBS® portfolio for cable fire protection and penetrations seals, as well as customized Flamastic® solutions as pastes, granulates, moldings, dry blends and compounds. In addition, the portfolio includes the pressure impregnation of wood in autoclaves with Wolmanit® Firestop, fire protection coatings with Wolmanit® Antiflamm, and wood preservatives for construction timber, engineered wood products and blue stain protection. The Illertissen and Frankenthal sites specialize in fire protection production; Illertissen also hosts the development laboratory, application technology center and fire test facilities. Since May 2023, the company has been part of the Sika Group and operates under the Fire Protectors brand. Its customers include the construction industry, manufacturers of fire protection doors, power plants and energy technology, shipping, public buildings, and electromobility.

Materials and Technologies
Water-containing, glass fiber-reinforced silicate
Core material of the Palusol® panels, which in the event of fire intumesces with expansion pressure into a pressure-resistant, heat-insulating foam.
Epoxy resin
Protective coating on both sides of the Palusol® panels against weathering.
Phosphate-based intumescent material
Basis of the intumescent material Interdens®, which intumesces without pressure from 150°C.
Graphite-based intumescent material
Basis of Exterdens®, intumescent with expansion pressure up to 10 bar, also suitable for moisture-exposed areas.
High-density fiberboard (HDF)
Surface material of the Palusol® SW sandwich panels for fire protection doors.
Wood and wood-based materials
Substrate for Wolmanit® Firestop and Wolmanit® Antiflamm, including plywood moldings, glulam and veneer.
Steel
Application material for KBS® penetration seals, e.g. wall penetrations for steel pipes.
Plastic
Substrate for Flamastic® dry blends and compounds, as well as pipe material for KBS® penetration seals.
Pressure impregnation in autoclave
Process for the permanent impregnation of wood in ground contact, e.g. palisade fences and playground equipment.
Dip treatment
Impregnation process for construction timber and board goods with water-soluble preservatives.
