Wolturnus A/S is a Danish, privately owned company based in Nibe, which develops, manufactures, and sells wheelchairs, sports wheelchairs, and handbikes. The wheelchairs are handcrafted in Denmark and custom-made according to the individual needs, wishes, and lifestyle of the user. The product range includes rigid frame wheelchairs (e.g., HAWK, Tukan, W5), the custom-made folding wheelchair Merlin with an aluminum folding mechanism, as well as sports wheelchairs for wheelchair basketball, tennis, and rugby, with over 13 years of experience in rugby wheelchair production. The German subsidiary Wolturnus GmbH, located in Erfurt, handles sales service, service center and claims processing, as well as repair and measurements, supplemented by distributors of Motion Composites (carbon wheelchairs), VICAIR seat cushions, Bodypoint, and pediatric rehabilitation products (Ormesa, LiwCare, Leckey). Sales partners include GEORG EGGER in Austria and Susurro in Great Britain.

Quality

The products are Class 1 medical devices; in 2021, the quality management system was revised during the implementation of the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and the products were re-classified. A QA manager (Tina Jensen) has been designated for quality assurance.
