About Wood & Energy
Wood & Energy is an internationally oriented group of companies that has been active in the wood processing industry since 1997. The company produces sawn timber for the wholesale trade and processing industries from regional woods, as well as KVH® structural timber (Konstruktionsvollholz) and glulam (BSH/GLT). Following the zero-waste principle, by-products such as bark, sawdust, wood chips and offcuts are processed into biofuels such as RED-compliant wood pellets (DINplus/ENplus A1). At the biomass combined heat and power plant at the German site in Cölbe, the group generates renewable energy in the form of electricity and heat, supplying, among others, local district heating networks. In addition to the sawmill with a KVH capacity of 150,000 m³ at the Cölbe site, the group offers engineering services for industrial plants in the sawmill and biomass energy sector as well as plant operation through its W&E Strategy division. Customers are wholesalers and large industrial consumers from steel and metal processing, the cement and lime industry, energy supply and the food industry throughout Europe.
