WPD Wartungs- und Prüfungsdienst GmbH, headquartered in Speyer, has specialised since 1959 in mobile testing, verification, calibration and repair of liquid meters and volume meters. Using mobile test vehicles (universal test vehicle UNI, large-volume test vehicle GRW, LPG test vehicle, pipe test loop), permanently installed meters are tested directly on site without production downtime. At the competence centre in Leuna, the specialists maintain and repair all types of liquid meters from all manufacturers and calibrate them on accredited calibration rigs with flow ranges up to 1,200 m³/h. Further business fields are maintenance and servicing of tank installations and fuelling facilities, inspections under WHG (Water Resources Act) and BetrSichV (Industrial Safety Ordinance), technical decommissioning and dismantling of tank installations, as well as engineering services for industrial liquid metering systems, including metrology for cryogenic liquids such as hydrogen and synthetic fuels. The company operates with around 60 employees in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as other European countries.

Founded in October as the first company for mobile testing and adjustment of permanently installed volume meters for liquids.

Establishment of the Leuna branch with repair and testing service for liquid meters; calibration rigs up to 1,200 m³/h.

The German Armed Forces commission WPD with the technical decommissioning of the underground fuel depot Bremen-Farge with 78 kerosene tanks on 320 ha.
