About WRC
WRC World Resources Company GmbH specializes in the recycling and recovery of metal-bearing residual materials. At its production site in Wurzen near Leipzig, the company processes metal-bearing sludges, residual materials and liquids from industrial processes into marketable metal concentrates, which are supplied worldwide to non-ferrous metal smelters and producers. The facilities were expanded in three stages in 1999, 2002 and 2008, enabling an annual capacity of 45,000 tonnes; since 2016 a CPA plant for processing metal-bearing liquids has been available, and since 2024 a crushing plant for hard-brittle materials. An in-house laboratory with ICP-OES, XRF, UV/VIS spectroscopy and ion chromatography ensures material analysis and quality assurance. Founded in Leipzig in 1996, the company is part of the US-based WRC Group, employs more than 200 people worldwide and serves more than 700 customers from its European headquarters in Wurzen. An international network of offices in Europe, Asia, North and South America complements transport logistics including notification procedures as well as consulting on recycling and environmental regulations.
