WSK Maschinenbau GmbH, based in Burbach, develops and manufactures machines and systems for processing wound materials such as paper, cardboard, films, protective films, adhesive tapes, foams, rubber, nonwovens and filter materials, bitumen membranes as well as tarpaulins and technical textiles. The product range includes roll slitting machines, rewinding slitting machines, laminating and bonding systems, narrow-width laminating systems, unwinding, winding and rewinding machines as well as customer-specific special machines for production, handling, testing and machining. For the metering of free-flowing and abrasive materials, horizontal rotary valve feeders are also manufactured. Design and technical planning, in-house welding fabrication, machining, assembly as well as testing and commissioning are closely interlinked at the Burbach site, which enables short coordination paths and flexible adaptations to material, dimensions and production workflow. In early 2003, WSK took over the product range of THEMA Theis GmbH and continues to offer service for older THEMA machines. In addition to new machine construction, the company performs repairs, overhauls, spare parts manufacturing from drawings or samples as well as contract machining and production to customer designs.
