About the Wurmbergbaude
The Wurmbergbaude is a mountain inn on the summit of the Wurmberg, the highest mountain in Lower Saxony, near Braunlage in the Harz. The ensemble includes the Wurmberg-Alm as the culinary part of the establishment with restaurant and kiosk, sun terraces, as well as the 32-metre-high Wurmberg Tower built in 2019 as an observation and adventure tower with a slide and panoramic views. Visitors reach the summit via the Wurmberg cable car, on foot via hiking trails or by bicycle. The offering includes food and drinks, refreshments for hikers, cyclists and winter sports enthusiasts, events for groups as well as reservations. The history of the site dates back to 1952, when the Wesche couple ran a small tower room in the Wurmberg ski jump tower; in 1959, Oskar Wesche built the Wurmbergbaude. Today, Karin Lauber continues to run the family business in the third generation.
