About us
WVE GmbH Kaiserslautern was founded in 1994 as a 100% subsidiary of the then TWK (today Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern – SWK) and renamed in 2011 to WVE GmbH Kaiserslautern – Wasserversorgung Energie – due to expanded business fields. The company employs over 170 staff and holds interests in 12 companies. Its business fields include the development of building areas including urban land-use planning, land acquisition, financing and marketing of residential and commercial plots, as well as project development of ground-mounted and rooftop photovoltaic systems with maintenance and operational management. In the field of renewable energies, WVE plans and operates district heating networks, biomass furnaces, combined heat and power, battery storage, electric charging infrastructure and mobile heating systems from 150 to 500 kW. Another focus is wastewater management: process engineering covering all HOAI phases, technical operational management of wastewater treatment plants and sewer networks (approx. 450 km), sewage sludge management including dewatering, solar drying and utilization, landfill leachate treatment, and the sale of flocculants and precipitation agents to around 100 municipal and industrial wastewater operators. The portfolio is complemented by an accredited drinking water laboratory in Kaiserslautern. Its main service area is Germany, in particular Rhineland-Palatinate and the West Palatinate region.
