About X-Spectrum
X-Spectrum GmbH is a company founded in 2014 as a spin-off from the DESY Research Center in Hamburg that develops and manufactures high-resolution, ultra-fast X-ray and electron detectors. The portfolio comprises four detector families: the photon-counting detectors LAMBDA (Medipix3, up to 24,000 fps, 55 µm pixel size), the event-based X-ray detectors AEON based on Timepix4 with sub-nanosecond time resolution and up to 40,000 fps, the photon-integrating detectors SPARTA (AGIPD technology, burst frame rate from 6 MHz, 200 µm pixel size), and the electron detectors AMBER for electron microscopy with in-vacuum operation. The detectors are used in synchrotron and XFEL research facilities, laboratories, electron microscopy, materials science and industrial inspection. The offering includes technical consulting, support, as well as documentation and manuals; communication is conducted in German and English. From its Hamburg location, the company supplies research facilities and companies worldwide.
