About the Knapsack Chemical Park
The Knapsack Chemical Park in Hürth near Cologne is a multi-user chemical site with over 118 years of history, operated by YNCORIS GmbH & Co. KG. On the 180-hectare site with the Hürth and Knapsack plant sections, around 20 companies from the chemical and pharmaceutical industries as well as the circular economy produce. As site operator and industrial service provider, YNCORIS offers services from a single source: site operations and infrastructure (rail tracks, roads, pipelines, sewers, corridors), permitting management, engineering, plan, build, operate and maintain, as well as plant fire brigade, plant security and emergency management. The Knapsack/Wesseling/Godorf integrated site is connected to the LyondellBasell petrochemical complex. The site is increasingly developing towards the circular economy: recycling of plastics, beverage cartons, PET/polyester and phosphorus, thermal waste recovery, biomass and substitute fuel power plants, as well as a Hürth-South expansion area for Advanced Sorting. As a scale-up platform, it integrates young companies into existing value chains.
