About the Zahnmedizinische Klinik am Wasserturm
The Zahnmedizinische Klinik am Wasserturm (ZKW) in Mannheim is a state-recognized dental clinic that has been headed by oral surgeon Dr. Dr. Andreas H. Valentin since 1991. Covering more than 800 square metres at the Mannheim Water Tower, the clinic comprises a dental outpatient unit with five treatment units, two operating rooms, a surgical department, a master dental laboratory, the Institute for Oral Surgery Mannheim (IFOM) and five apartments for inpatient monitoring after major procedures. The treatment spectrum includes implantology including immediate implants, periodontology with bone augmentation procedures, aesthetic dentistry as well as treatment under partial and general anaesthesia for anxiety patients and multimorbid patients. A key focus is the interdisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD) with the clinic's own ZKW Body Balance System; the functional splints derived from it are individually fabricated in the in-house laboratory. In Kaiserslautern, the clinic operates the Day Clinic for Oral Surgery and the Centre for Craniomandibular Dysfunction Westpfalz (ZCW) as a referral practice for more than 100 dentists.
