About Zakspeed

Zakspeed was founded in 1968 by Erich Zakowski and, with over 480 individual race wins and 22 national and international championships, is one of the traditional German racing teams. The company was active, among others, in Formula 1, Formula 3, DTM, ITC, Indycar, FIA GT1 World Championship, ADAC GT Masters, Blancpain GT Series and at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring; in the 1980s it developed a complete Formula 1 car entirely in-house. Zakspeed Classic GmbH in Antweiler offers the restoration of historic vehicles, the sale of classic racing and road vehicles as well as support in classic motorsport. In addition, Zakspeed Motorsport GmbH in Erkelenz operates racing engagements, for example in the VLN and at the 24-hour race on the Nordschleife, as well as events and incentives. Philipp Zakowski is the managing director of both companies.
