ZBINDEN Posieux SA is a vehicle and metal construction business founded in 1946 by Joseph Zbinden, headquartered in Posieux in the canton of Fribourg. From its beginnings as a specialist for trailers and agricultural vehicles, it has grown into a company with five business divisions: vehicle manufacturing, Trailerstop, industrial sheet metal working, machine and welded constructions, and consulting and development. The portfolio includes truck platforms and bodies, own-brand and imported trailers, semi-trailers up to rear-tipping platforms, special vehicles such as a mobile chalet, and patented systems such as the Trailerstop braking system for trailers from 750 kg to 3.5 t and the DRB-216 interchange system for motorway barriers. In industrial sheet metal working, the company produces press-brake profiles, stair treads, machine brackets, containers, facade cladding and gutters from steel, aluminium and stainless steel. Production includes laser cutting up to 6000 mm in length, press braking with a 450-t press and welded constructions in TIG and MIG. Customers come from the transport and construction sectors, mechanical engineering, public utilities and road signalling.
