About ZED

ZED Ziegler Electronic Devices GmbH is an electronics company based in Ilmenau-Langewiesen (Thuringia), founded in August 2001 on the basis of experience from 'Ziegler' ballast manufacturing since 1996. Its business activities include the development, production and worldwide distribution of electronic ballasts (EBs) for UV low-pressure lamps (5–1300 W) and medium-pressure lamps, UV sensors, monitors, controllers and UV lamps including quartz glass sleeves and ceramic sockets. As a partner of system and equipment manufacturers, ZED supplies electronic components for UV systems used in the treatment and disinfection of drinking water and greywater, for exhaust air treatment, for example in commercial kitchens, and for the disinfection of water, air and surfaces. The portfolio is complemented by custom-tailored hardware and software development, a measurement laboratory for lamp performance (low and medium pressure, UVC measurement according to the IUVA protocol, VUV/ozone measurement) and sensor recalibration according to DVGW or ÖNORM. A mercury-free amalgam UV lamp system is in series production. Products are manufactured in-house in Langewiesen; distribution is worldwide.
