About Zephyr Surgical Implants
Zephyr Surgical Implants (ZSI) is a family-run Swiss manufacturer of implantable medical devices for Urology, Andrology, and Gynecology, based in Geneva. The product spectrum includes artificial urethral sphincters (e.g., ZSI 375), hydraulic and semi-rigid penile implants (ZSI 475, ZSI 100), as well as implants specifically for reconstructive surgery and gender-affirming procedures. The company develops and manufactures its device components in-house; assembly and testing of the medical devices take place in Switzerland. After its founding in 2007 by Urologist Dr. Christophe Llorens, the first pre-confectioned, pre-filled artificial urethral sphincter was introduced in 2009. ZSI distributes its products in over 70 countries through eight subsidiaries and around 50 distributors; more than 4500 units of the ZSI 375 were implanted by 2019.
