Brick from our own clay since 1860

Ziegelei Schumacher AG was founded in 1860 in Körbligen near Gisikon and is today family-owned in its sixth generation. The company produces bricks, thermal insulation blocks, sound insulation blocks, facing bricks, clinker bricks, roof tiles and wine storage systems entirely from its own Swiss clay. The raw material, clay and loam, comes from the company-owned Pfaffwil pit, around 1.2 km from the plant, and is transported to production via a historic field railway. The entire value chain — from raw material preparation through shaping to firing in the tunnel kiln — takes place at the Körbligen site. The product range includes standard bricks in SwissModul format, the monolithic thermal insulation block MONOBRICK ZSK, Calmo sound insulation blocks, earthquake-safe Armo masonry as well as special products for industry and agriculture. In addition, the company offers technical masonry and facade planning including anchor planning, static detail dimensioning and earthquake concepts according to SIA 261/266. Customers include the construction industry, architects, and residential and multi-family housing construction in Switzerland.
