About Ziegelwerk Schüring

The Ziegelwerk Schüring brickworks in Gescher near Münster has been producing bricks using traditional methods since 1938. The product range includes facing bricks and clinkers in the formats DF, EF, RF, Alt-RF and NF as solid and perforated bricks, manufactured as extruded bricks or as water-struck Westphalian bricks. The core of production is the original coal firing in the tunnel kiln at around 1,200 °C, which, together with special raw material blends, produces a broad, colour-fast colour spectrum without colour additives or chemical treatment. Surfaces are executed scraped, smooth, natural or rustic. In addition to series in high to very high volumes as stock goods, the works offers custom production for restoration and heritage conservation in any colour, shape and batch size. Reference projects include the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Drägerwerk in Lübeck (architect Max Dudler, around 150,000 bricks), Altenberg Cathedral and the Cultural History Centre in Vreden. Around 25 employees produce without high-tech automation in a modern manufactory; delivery is made on schedule to construction sites throughout Europe.
