About Zipfel GmbH
Zipfel GmbH is a sawmill and timber business established in 1856 in Eisenbach in the Black Forest, today run in its sixth generation by Andreas Zipfel. The company produces sawn timber and construction timber in almost every dimension and quality up to 16 m in length from spruce, fir, larch, Douglas fir and pine. Its range of services includes contract sawing of round timber, cross-cutting, drying, planing, environmentally friendly impregnation as well as the production of planed products and MH solid wood – technically dried solid structural timber made from a single piece without glues or finger joints. Residual wood such as sawdust, wood chips, reduction chips and bark is also marketed. Since 2016, a combined heat and power plant with wood gasifier technology (Burkhardt) has supplied the company with its own heat and electricity, including for timber drying. Construction timber is strength-graded and monitored in accordance with EN 14081-1 (C16, C24, C30) and DIN 4074-1 S10. Customers are found in construction, carpentry and the timber trade.
